Real-world implications of high-performance competencies and strategic management simulation technology

Addressing the multi-dimensional issues that loom large today…

This paper describes efforts to estimate the construct and criterion-related validity of a complex set of behaviors, the H-PC, by using data collected through three highly reliable methods: work shadowing, assessment centers, and Strategic Management Simulation Technology. The first two assessment methods use highly trained assessors to directly observe, record, and rate the behaviors used by participants. The third, SMS Technology, uses objective simulations and/or a vignette-based methodology to understand decision-making processes.
