Behavioral complexity assessment technology: Moving toward holistic evaluations

Real-world capability is the actual capacity of an individual to perform a task…

Human performance and productivity are a combination of multiple factors including personality, aptitude, capacity, and experience. Historically, most tools are designed as self-report assessments thereby focusing on the Preferences of the individual answering the survey or questionnaire. This is reflective of the personality characteristics that an individual aspires toward or orients toward while completing a task. It is indicative of what an individual may like in themselves and others.

Tools that provide a fundamental evaluation of personality traits and basic skill sets are important. However, to create a holistic picture of an individual’s functioning, it is critical to view functioning in terms of not just who individuals think they are or their performance in problem-solving games but also how they actually perform in the real world.
